“Kumbuk & Wewa” speaks directly to the timeless natural environment of Sri Lanka's rural dry zone — the grand Kumbuk tree that shades our stream banks and village pathways, and the ancient Wewa (reservoir) of Mahaillupalla that waters the surrounding paddy fields.
“Rajarata Village Retreat” honors our deep cultural connection to Anuradhapura's historic kingdom. We exist not merely as a resort, but as a living sanctuary of traditional clay architecture, Cultural Show folk performances, and heartfelt village hospitality.

The Village & Cultural Show Folk Drama
Kumbukanda Handiya is an authentic farming village. Our team are local sons and daughters, and village women run our live food stations. On cultural evenings, villagers gather to perform Cultural Show (the ancient agricultural folk theatre) with wooden masks, energetic dancing, and Geta Bera drums around a fire hearth.

Guests at Kumbuk & Wewa are welcomed into this sacred circle. Surrounded by the gentle glow of clay oil lamps (mati pahan), the sweet scent of sandalwood incense, and offerings of areca nut flowers (pun kalas), you will receive protective blessed threads and holy water from village elders.
